Dave Adams_DRX_HeadshotDave Adams, President

Dave Adams is the President of Patriot Urgent Care, LLC, the management company of the AFC Doctors Express Urgent Care centers in Waltham and Burlington, Massachusetts, where he also runs day-to-day operations and management of the Company. Prior to launching these AFC Doctors Express Urgent Care medical practices, Dave spent several years with Suffolk Construction in Boston, MA, most recently as the Vice President of Operations where he was responsible for operations and financial management of nearly $1 Billion of commercial, residential and retail construction projects for the company’s Northeast region. Captain Adams also served around the globe for nearly a decade as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps, both as a leadership instructor and as an Assault Amphibian platoon commander. Dave graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the College of William & Mary where he was the recipient of a four year athletic football scholarship. Dave also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Dr. Kristina Orio, DO, FACEP -Medical Director & Lead Physician

Dr. Kristina Orio is a board certified Emergency Medicine Physician with nearly 15 years of clinical experience in both the private and US military healthcare sectors. After graduating from Wellesley College with a degree in Biochemistry, Kris was awarded a highly-competitive Health Professions Scholarship by the United States Air Force to attend the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medical School. Dr. Orio fulfilled her residency studies in Emergency Medicine at the Wilford Hall and Brooke Army Medical Centers in San Antonio, Texas before serving as a Battlefield Emergency Medical Combat Physician at Travis Air Force Base in California and in Kirkuk, Iraq as part of a Mobile Field Surgical Team where she treated wounded US military personnel. Following her combat tour, Major Orio joined the clinical faculty of the San Antonio Uniformed Health Services Consortium’s Emergency Medicine Residency and then the Baptist Health System in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Orio joined the AFC Doctors Express team following several years as an Emergency Medicine Physician at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA. She lives in Weston, MA with her husband (also a physician) and her three children.

photoBeth Kirstein, PA-C – Clinical Practice Manager

Beth Kirstein has over 15 years of clinical experience and has been a certified Physician Assistant for the past decade. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania with a focus in neurobiological research and her graduate studies at Arcadia University with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Beth has spent a great deal of her career in surgical subspecialties working with adult and pediatric patients in both community hospitals and trauma centers in the Philadelphia and Boston areas. She spent several years with a surgical team at the AI Dupont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, DE and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, working in both inpatient and outpatient surgical settings. Immediately prior to joining AFC Doctors Express, Beth spent 6 years collectively between Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, MA and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA where she provided highly-acute care for surgery patients. Beth has a son and resides in Bedford, MA.

Dr. Sophia Hill

Dr. Sophia Hill, MD, FACEP – Urgent Care Physician

Since 1987, Dr. Hill has been a practicing Board Certified Physician of both Emergency and Internal Medicine. She holds a BA from Wellesley College, completed post-graduate pre-medical studies at Dartmouth College, and has an MD from the Tufts University School of Medicine. Most recently Dr. Hill has been practicing Emergency Medicine with the Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, MA and has served as a member of the Harvard University medical community for several years. A native of Belmont, MA and a lifelong Boston sports fan, Dr. Hill has a special interest in sports medicine. When not seeing patients she loves to run, bike, cook and travel with her physician husband and two daughters.

dr-goldbergerDr. Thomas Goldberger, MD – Urgent Care Physician

Dr. Thomas Goldberger has been a full-time practitioner of Emergency Medicine in Massachusetts for nearly 30 years. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Worcester City Hospital after graduating from Tufts University School of Medicine and was a Clinical Instructor at the Harvard University School of Medicine for many years. He served as consultant and expert witness in Emergency Medicine for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He formerly held the position of Chief of Emergency Medicine at a high-volume, urban Boston Emergency Department and has a special interest in the effect of cultural differences on the physician-patient relationship. Dr. Goldberger speaks Spanish, Hungarian, Hebrew and French. He is married to Dr. Sue Sand, a psychologist in private practice. They have two daughters.

photo (10)Dr. Leslie Cioffi, MD, FACEP – Urgent Care Physician

Dr. Leslie Cioffi is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician currently also in practice at Carney Hospital Emergency Department in Dorchester, Massachusetts. She has been employed in this capacity for 15 years since completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency at the Boston Medical Center. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and also formerly served for many years as a clinical nutritionist at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. When not treating patients, Dr. Cioffi can likely be found reading, cycling or pursuing a number of different physical fitness interests in and around her Boston-area home.

Dr. Katy Brodski, MD, Ed.M – Urgent Care Physician

Dr. Ekaterina (Katy) Brodski-Quigley is a board-certified Family Practice physician with nearly a decade of clinical experience and a lifetime of local-area experience. A childhood resident of nearby Newton, MA, both Katy and her husband, Kevin, are graduates of Brandeis University; Katy, with a degree in biology. She is also a graduate of Boston University with a Master’s degree in Health Education, a recipient of a Medical degree from the Albany Medical College and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s prestigious Family Medicine Residency Program. For the past several years Katy has served as a Primary Care and Urgent Care physician at the Heywood Family Medical Practice and Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA. A resident of Leominster, MA, Katy is an award-winning creative writer, a very-talented painter and a mother of a young child.

Dr. Felice Meadow is a board-certified Family Practice physician with 32 years of clinical experience. She is a graduate of Wellesley College, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth Texas and the Family Medicine residency program at the University of Minnesota. For nearly 20 years she worked as a Primary Care physician in Dover, NH and then as a Family Practice physician in Fitchburg, MA where she eventually chaired the Family Medicine Department of Health Alliance Hospital. Dr. Meadow also served as the Associate Medical Director of the Joseph M Smith Community Health Center in Waltham, MA. For the past several years Felice has maintained the role of Medical Director and Urgent Care physician at the Fidelity Health and Wellness Center in Boston, MA. A resident of Cambridge, MA, Felice has two adult children and two grandchildren.

REBECCADr. Rebecca Kano, MD – Urgent Care Physician

Dr. Kano is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with nearly a decade of experience in urban Boston hospitals. She graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Kano completed her residency at the Scottsdale Healthcare Family Practice Residency Program and a one-year fellowship at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Phoenix. Dr. Kano spent two years post-residency working in high-acuity urgent care settings in Arizona and New York before settling in the Boston area. Prior to joining AFC Doctors Express in Waltham and Burlington, Dr. Kano spent 8 years fulfilling family practice and Clinical Instructor roles in the Department of Family Medicine at Boston Medical Center. Rebecca is a novice pilot and enjoys painting, running and reading in her spare time.

DRPICDr. V. Persis Dhas, MD, MPH, FACEP – Urgent Care Physician

Dr. Persis Dhas has nearly 15 years of clinical experience as a dual-board-certified physician in both Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. After graduating from both the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and Boston University’s School of Medicine with a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Persis attended the Universidad Central de Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Dr. Dhas fulfilled her residency studies in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, MN and in Emergency Medicine at the Boston Medical Center. Over the past decade she has practiced medicine in some of the most prestigious teaching hospitals in the country, most recently as a Medical Instructor at the University of Michigan’s Health System in Ann Arbor, MI. Persis, a self-described foodie and avid runner, enjoys city living, visiting museums, running along the Charles River and dining out.

NANCYDr. Nancy Venditti, MD – Urgent Care Physician

Dr. Nancy Venditti is a board certified Internal Medicine Physician with nearly 20 years of clinical experience. After graduating from Wellesley College, she was awarded the Sara Perry Wood Medical Fellowship and attended Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Venditti then completed her residency at the University of Chicago. She returned to Boston to practice primary care at Harvard Vanguard and then at Massachusetts General Hospital and presently at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She is ACLS and PALS certified. In her spare time, she is active in a book club at MGH for primary care physicians. She enjoys all types of music, theatre and travel.

SHANNONShannon McCormick, PA-C – Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Shannon McCormick is a certified Physician Assistant with over a decade of healthcare experience. She grew up in Andover and she has an undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in Cardiopulmonary Exercise Physiology. Shannon has dedicated her entire professional life to healthcare; prior to attending PA school she worked in the field as a phlebotomist, physical therapy aide, assistant orthopedic technologist, and exercise physiologist. She graduated from Northeastern University’s Physician Assistant program in 2009. Prior to joining AFC Doctors Express she worked for over five years in the MetroWest Medical Center emergency departments in Framingham and Natick as an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant. Shannon enjoys sports, travel, cooking, and spending time with her family. She lives in Winchester with her husband and daughter.

unnamedKimberly Campbell, PA-C – Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Kim Campbell is a certified Physician Assistant originating from Northern Michigan. Kim completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan (Go Blue) where she studied Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science. During her undergraduate studies, she worked for BrightStar Healthcare, caring for geriatric and disabled adults and also worked on an inpatient cardiology unit. While at the University of Michigan, Kim co-founded the global health organization, Project West Africa. Following her undergraduate training, Kim traveled to Togo, Africa with a research team where she helped launch an HIV education program for Togolese college students. Kim then moved to Pennsylvania where she completed her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. She focused her clinical training on Emergency Medicine, completing clinical rotations in Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and Trauma Surgery. In her free time, Kim enjoys playing violin, tennis, and running. As a newbie to Boston, she loves exploring the city’s museums and historical sites.
